Sunday Photo Fun 10-22-06

Jon - It was great to meet you and talk with you and your wife. The CTT Forum group is a great bunch. I love that Shay and the Climax. You better take your wife along on all toy train excursions.

Take care,

Mitch

REAL coal [from Senic Express]. No plastic stuff.

Chief,

That’s one NICE 2065! Good luck with it!

Jim

Ditto what Jim said^

Chief, did you take a winding off of the pellet unit to make it smoke that good?? I have done that on some guys steamers, with them complimenting me on a job well done.[;)] Oh, so its REAL coal, so when you actually DO make a layout, you will have the stains to prove that you had a humble floor layout in there![:)]

here’s a few shots for you guys as i have got the top 2 lines up and wired but no power going to them yet.

hope you guys like.

Reggie, that layout is lookin pretty darn good.

As usual, great pictures everyone.

Reggie - I wish I had the space for a layout like that, looks great!!!

Stan.

Reggie, great photos. For those who have not followed your progress, they would be in for a surprise to see how far you have come in such a short time.

thanks and nice pic everyone

Nice pic’s everyone![:)]

Reggie:

Unbelieveable progress. You are doing a fine job.

Now if you would just get some post war trains on there . . .

Looks like we have a new kid in the sandbox now! Hello Reggie, great layout, looks like youve got this o gauge thing figured out already! [:)]

Hello All! Super Photo’s this week. CSXJohn- I like how you set up the Marx Bridge over your layout. Wait till Groucho sees it![:P][:D][:o)] Reggie -Your layout is also progressing very nicely.Imagine what it would look like with 1688s on it![;)][:o)][:)] Chief- Nice 2065 Engine. Take Care of it. Not many mint 2065s around anymore. Have a nice day all.

now if i can get each track running properly. i will really have this thing figured out. i have the bottom 4 lines down and running i cant seem to get them all running in sequence. i had the1st 3 lines up and running but when i hook up line 4 all h*** breaks loose. i turn the power on on line 1 and the volts and amps are fine. but when i turn the juice up for line 2 the amps for line 1 jump from .3 to like 1.9. now this all started when i hooked up line 4. i went back to check all the wiring for line for to make sure no loose wires are hanging, touching the wrong thing. as you can tell i have all lines up but havent finished wiring 5 and 6 because of the problm im having with getting 1,2,3,and 4 hooked up together and running properly. if i just run a train on line 1 if runs fine for a few minutes but starts to slow down on the back side of my layout by the fair. my 2 suggestions are 1) i might need to add more power feed drops to each line or 2) is it that i have all 4 lines on the bottom level tied into each other turn the power on to line 1 but dont turn the power on to ines 2,3,4 and power still goes to all tracks, which in turn divides the power up between all tracks. help please. but again thanks for comments.

OK so I’m late…

My haul

Nice pictures everyone…Regiie, I believe the man on your layout is NOT O Scale. You may want to get some smaller figures![:P]

Nice Trolley, Marty

As always, great shots everyone! Anyway, enjoying the last of the autumn foliage, both on and off of the layout:

Jon, I’m drooling over that Climax! Out of curiosity, what’s its max curve radius?

Marty,

Does your 60 trolley have the motormen that appear in the end windows? That is one of the best I’ve seen. Be careful if you take the brushplate off the motor. There is a ball bearing on top of the armature shaft. It is very easy to lose. To remove the plate. unsolder the wires from their terminals, take out the two screws, but don’t remove the brushplate yet. Hold it on and turn the frame upside down. Now the plate can be pulled down and removed without losing the bearing. The trolley will not run well if the bearing is missing.
