Two photos taken by a visitor to my layout:
Nice pictures guys, thanks for sharing! I need to get some train stuff done one of these days… It’s been over a month, but I’ve just been very busy.
Some pics of the busy folks in Flyervill
Have fun

Nice pictures everyone. Here’s an overview of my little layout (no people yet).
Great photo’s everyone, I love the old toytrain look of envfocus’ layout!!
My controls, made by a sheet of stainless steel, polished until it shines. Then make the trackpattern with ducktape op the glossy sheet and sandblast it. Then remove the ducktape and voila, the route pops out as a polished pattern.
A shot of the super chief climbing the slope to Glenwood Springs, which is the station area on top of the hill. The route where the superchief crawls now will be a track beside the colorado river later on.
The slope from the other side. Under the slope there will be a returnloop later on inside the mountain. This will turn the train around, ready to climb the slope. The lowest point is 10" lower then Glenwood Springs, the slope is about 15 feet long, so the slope is pretty steep. However, every locomotive can do what it’s supposed to do: tow it’s train up the hill.
Mostly did electrical stuff…Reverted backed to DCSversion 3.1 and made a few large (40-60 scale ft) trees.
Nice photos everyone! Here’s a couple late night shots!
Bill - Gave up on 4.xx huh! I see that Legacy CN SD40-2 lurking in the background.
YEs, I did give it up. Seemed to be no advantage for how I run trains. The engine issues never went away. Adding engines was a crap shoot with 4.02 and lashups never worked well.
Jim S came over and we tried all kind of stuff. Once we went back to 3.11 things were fine. As a note, when the remotes were changed back to 3.1 the contrast on screen went to zero and you couldn’t read remote. Thanks to Jim, he figured out right away the problem and did the thumb on screen trick.
Next thing is to get legacy up and running. Although I must admit I’m real dissapointed in these lionel SD40-2 with respect ot their wheel sets. Absolutley terrible IMO. No more preorders here.
they should make Scale offerings with higher min radius. It makes no sense to do a scale offering with 031 curves, when the smallest standard piece of fastrack is 036. The standard scale offerings should be 048 min and they should reduce the flange size. They have the “traditional line” for smaller size curves.
Thanks for taking the time to post the pics, all. I always look forward to SPF.
zeames1: nice yellow/black ragtop- maybe 55/56 Packard? or could be a Pontiac? also nice Checker Marathon cab if I’m not mistaken. Am I correct to assume you and the others build these models?
