Sunday Photo Fun 11-16-08

L I RR

It was a calm Sunday morning in Castle Canyon, and no one expected chaos…

…until the tracks jolted up and the ground shook. The trackside musician appears oblivious to the event, while the rafter paddles for dear life!

Great pics as usual everyone. Here’s my pic for this week:

I bought this engine at an estate engine yesterday for $40 + buyer’s fee and tax. After a bit of maintenance, it’s running great.

Hope no one was hurt Perry. Yeah, that rafter probably got a real sweet ride on the crest of the tidal wave caused by that car plunging into the river. ( Where did you get that rafter by the way? )

Hope no Hazmat was involved spilling into the river like we had here in Dunsmuir lo’ those many years ago.

Hey Tom,

Looks like business is booming on the CP&E RR.

Spanky-Bird, Perry and Ray: Love those scenarios!! Spanky, I in particular like your turn of the century scenes; I live in a building in a town full of those kinds of buildings, but alas, we no longer have the trolleys, lifestyle, etc.

Nice to see some newer entries. Thanks for posting everybody.

Phish - Thank you Sir.

Ditto!!!

Spanky led off with a home run and the rest did not let us voyeurs down. Kudos Spanky, Perry, JimPhish, JWSE, Snow, WS, Brutus, and Raymans.

Just an observation, but after following this weekly thread and seeing all of the work, detail, and imagination that goes into these layouts, I could not picture myself getting bored or disgusted with my layout to the point I could bring myself to tear it down and start over.

Thanks, guys.

Jack

Well said, Jack. Tom sure has the greatest collection of old-time vehicles I’ve ever seen!

DougM…I know how personal that layout detail can be to each of us. And personally, I really like period and location detail. Whether that be autos, buildings, or even an operator’s name on the top of a house of ill repute! [:D]
