Visited my sisters in ; stopped off and visited John (jefelectric) in , , and also some trains in and . Got lots more photos of John’s layout I’ll put up later this week as well as some of his very interesting toy train techniques. On a later date, hoping to visit Mitch in .
Here’s a couple shots of a railroad going thru (CSX).
's New station in distance
A real railroad accident… luckily it was only candy and not uranium or liquid gas[:)]
The mountains are growing, an eagle has already build his nest on top of it…
The male is searching for food, I guess apart from some coal and sawdust there is not much to find yet.
In the city there are some laterns installed. The wiring will be behind the buildings, so the wires to the laterns will later be embedded under the street.
On the parking area of Kennsington station there is also light.
And of course a railroad crossing with lights.
The steamer runs through the valley in construction, scaring the only animal around…
Great pics all. Here’s my contribution…
That’s one TOUGH set of pictures to have to try to follow up on! Nice!!!
The Ghost of Christmases Past keeps hinting about some other visitor, but not yet. I sense something’s in the air pretty soon though! Back to 2005 we went last night.
- Happy Thanksgiving Guys! - walt
Went to the Cal Stewart meet in Pasadena yesterday. An interesting side light and story unfolded.
The meet itself was nothing what I was expecting, Cal Stewart used to be huge, with lots of new items, and small specialty business represented. Oh wellll
This was an interesting curiosity… a $253,000 Train !!!
Wasn’t for sale, just display…
I talked with the owner, and of course he so extremely proud of the purchase as he is the “3rd owner”, and the boxes is what he was really excited about. I didn’t ask if had them validated as original sense there are so many reproduction boxes available. Nor did I ask if he had seen the 4 repro 20th Century sets on the trading floor. When I came back by the display 45 minutes later he was in a huge argument with one of the staff, it seems that the local news station was covering the event, and the reporter interviewed a show staff representative, and DID NOT talk to the actual owner. The owner was somewhat disappointed that he didn’t get the publicity.
IMHO, I certainly would prefer any of the layouts, shown on the other posts here than even have this anywhere around. Actually, I think the value was $253k, only to him, cant imagine anyone buying it from him for 10% of what he paid
A couple of pics for this week.
First the old and the new on the club layout.
Then one of my favorites, my PW Texas Special.
Dave - thanks for letting us know why Santa won’t be visiting this year.
Don - my dad had a buddy at work that bragged about his $7,000 hunting dog. My dad, being the rather frugal man that he was commented who the heck would pay $7,000 for a dog? The reply was he didn’t pay $7,000 for that dog, he traded two $3,500 cats for it. [swg]
Hi guys
Nice pictures everyone!!
I want to show you my new generator car. It was built by me with brass sheets and plastic lionel generator inside.
Howdy All,
Great photos as usual, here is the newest member of the roster. Overton coaches on order now looking for a couple of freight cars and maybe a cabin car to go with it. [^]
Life started out as an RS-3 Lionel Construction train
Then was repainted as (upper track)
Then kitbashed it to a 7/8n18 critter that runs on 2 AA batteries and can go forward, neutral and reverse via dpdt switch in the cab. Added lights but wire broken when took this photo. still need to add link and pin couplers.
Andregg1 and FJ and G, the craftsmanship that you two put into your models is amazing. I love that generator car, and the small diesel looks cool too
WHOA!!! That generator car is one good lookin model there pardner. Great job on it Andreggi.
Here are a few pictures of my Christmas train.
Head end power with decorations.
Load of candy for the grand kids, I think we now know where Laz’s bear can be found. [:)]
A load of Christmas trees.
Santa and a few of his reindeer, more candy.
Lighted Christmas boxcar.
A load of gifts for good boys and girls.
Rudolph’s private car & the sleigh, Santa and Frosty in work caboose.
The end!
Great photo’s everyone. Keep up the good work.
Still playing army. Added some planes and additional troops.
HOPEFULLY CHARLIE ISN’T WAITING IN THE WATER TANK!!!
If he is, then thank god they are usin a diesel.
Have been wanting to get started on adding some additional rowhouses to the left of teh blue house:
Started by drawing the outline and window cutouts on a piece of illustration board:
Cut out the outline and winows and doors:
Scored the folds for the sides:
Pop in a few windows and we’re ready to add the clap board siding:
I’m going to do two identical ones in different color schemes to have a string of three with narrow alleys between them.
Frank, now some modern diesels running around that track sure would look good. [;)] I’m sure would rather see this engine instead.
