Race day as the Menards racing team is transported by rail.
If you have to move your layout, it really nice to have a few friends stop by to help.
And to have a friend with a truck
The Western Reserve Model Railroad Museum is on the MOVE to a new location. It’s only 1.5 miles down the road, but it’s almost 3 times the size of the old museum at 18,800 sq feet.
TOM,
BIG CONGA on the move, hope you have enough room now?
Here’s a few pics from the past…

Great photo’s this morning everyone!! Here are a few shots of the new platform that the guys at the log loader have been complaining that they needed due to increased traffic this year. It’s only been done for a few days and it’s getting a work out already.

Seayak - I saw one of those MENARD’S flatcars at YORK, but the guy selling it wanted $50…all I wanted was the 15 car (I collect 1:43 NASCAR). Will wait.
Well it is time for Jon’s John Deere Car to move on to the next stop. Actually it is way past time but I was holding out for the next car to arrive, and it has. It was a pleasure to have this car on my layout as this is one, of which, I don’t own a copy.
Here is a view of the interior, in case you wondered what it was carrying.
We coupled it to a Waddell Coal unit train to head out to the interchange track.
And here it is about to head into the Bubba’s very own horseshoe curve.
And guess who picked it up off of the interchange track, pulling the Sodor Express.
Well they are off to Baltimore and the next stop.
Thanks for all of the great photos today folks.
We have been having a run of warm weather here in Wisconsin this month. If fact we have been at least 15 degrees above normal most days. The month of October seemed colder than this, and we actually had some snow. So far no snow here in November; the deer hunters are not pleased.
I thought I would show you some photos that I took back in October when there was just a light dusting of snow and some frost. I happened to be walking near the home of Nils Jameson, owner of Wausau Widgets.
Nils had just stepped out of the front door of Thymely Manor as I was walking by. The Jameson house is the only one in that part of town with a name of its own.
I thought that Nils was out admiring the day, and then I realized that he was actually out there admiring his collections of vintage automobiles.
I think he had positioned them out where he could see them for one last time before putting them away in his garages for the winter. He actually drives the Duesenberg round town.
Great photos everybody. Does the following exchange sound familiar?
Wife: Why is your camera out?
Husband: I was taking some pictures.
Wife: Of what?
Husband: Trains.
Wife: (sigh) I sure wish you’d grow up.
Husband: Why?
Anyhow, I’ve been expanding my collection of Lionel cars that launch things. Most recent addition is the missile firing trail car. All are postwar execpt the locomotive, that is the recent TMCC version.
Great pics everyone! Sure fun to see that John Deere car on everyone’s layout, this really has been a good project.
Sitting here in Houston waiting for the plane to arrive and then home by 9:55, a long day but a good day. Sat next to a young lady from China who teaches Chinese in Miami at the U, she’s only been here a short while and speaks great English. I would imagine she’s been speaking and learning English since she was a child.
Is this week really Thanksgiving??? And everyone is coming to our house??? The answer is YES, BIG day of shopping tomorrow for the retired guy, very much looking forward to the task and then everyone coming home.
Funny… I just get the eye roll.
NIce looking Maise and Blue car at the bottom of the photo!
Kurt
very nice gentlemen!
Kurt - you are not the only one to comment on that box car. It is an MTH. I remember seeing a couple of full sized ones sitting on a siding in Ypsilanti when I was still living in Michigan. When I saw it in the catalog, I had to order it - even though I’m a Green and White guy.
The two cars either side of it are also MTH cars, with Michigan connections. Directly behind the GP9 is the Detroit Tigers commerative car, behind the AARR car is a Lake Superior Seafood reefer.
First, great shots guys!
Second, Laz, how well does the HWE engine pull? I have one still in the box, but the coaches are very light and I was wondering if that is because the locomotive power is limited.

New addition for the Coors Silver Bullet
