Let’s see if this works - Special CPI ‘van’ from I-o-way arrives…
Harold hovers in welcome.
See new pre-war bridge in the backgroud:
Sir Hatt thinks this van needs decorating for Christmas.
Some of the re-trackenizing.
Visit of the North Central O Gaugers club to our local library ten days ago.
Teddy (from kindergarten) went everywhere with us that weekend.
I liked the double-headed F40s.
Christmas car train. You could press a button and move a speeder on the Fastrak.
Another button raised and lowered the gates.
Some really nice pictures Doug, looked like a fun trip.
We took the kids to Cumberland Maryland Saturday to ride the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s “Santa Express” ride. The kids had a blast, and got to see Santa. Nice 3 1/2 hour round trip ride from Cumberland to Frostburg.
Wow - more Great Pics! Doug, I love your layout, but I see a blank spot… [;)]
Birds: When I see pictures of ‘benchwork’ like yours, I can only, like they say, “Wish upon a star.” For many more years than I care to recall, all of my layouts have been built with salvaged (dare I mention the word “dumpster”) wood. My dream is to, just once, be able to work with the good stuff. Looks great!
Thanks for the comments.
Wood in our area is expensive - even framing lumber. I found that going with nicer wood wasn’t much more expensive. Our basement is finished and contains the guest room, so having a nicer looking table was a requirement.
It’s very difficult to find usable scrap wood around here. When new homes were/are going up the materials usually arrive on site precut and are then craned into place. Very few true stick built homes these days. Commercial stuff all uses steel studs.
I used OSB instead of plywood for the top. OSB was $5.00 for a 4x8 sheet. I’ve been very pleased with it over the past year and a half.
Enjoy.
