Sunday Photo Fun 12-3-06

Work is continuing on the Christmas layout at the museum. The one outside loop now is expanded to the other leg.

Due to all the great advice I received this week concerning the feeding and care of an RMT BEEP, it was put on the front end of AMTRAK 805 as it left Roger’s Corners, Ohio. [:D] It’s next assignment is to pull about 100 hoppers full of Ohio coal to Roseyville, NC. [:)]

Building a 25” long boxcar for my 7/8n2, representing a 22’ long shorty boxcar

As for my 7/8n18, which runs on O gauge track, I built a (sorry for banned words) flatcar based on prototypical photos on handlayed track.

The entire car is made from a single Lionel truck. The axleboxes are actually the trucks cut into 4 pieces and nailed to the wood from. Using link and pin couplers, with the link coming from Lowe’s (AGR Test #41 offset link, replacement part).

I forgot to say on the post today…

As you can see we really “get into” our trains.

A view down Main Street. Father and son admire their purchase from the hobby shop.

With flanges squealing on the icy rails, Trolley #60 prepares to cross Main Street.

A postwar 2037 approaches the Girard station.

Layout progress to date:

That’s all folks! [:)]

I love Christmas photos posted on CTT every year . [bow] I copy many of them and send them on to friends and family.

that’s a keeper - by the way Dr John, that #60 Trolley must have the longest route in history, it was recently seen on my layout.

Yeah, Frank. #60 does seem to get around, doesn’t it? [:)]

I “found” them in my digital camera. Then $100 for photoshop elements and away you go!

Jim
