Spankybird, the news story was really great. My sister is moving to Ohio, so I hope to have a chance to visit the museum. It’s really amazing. Congratulations.

Here’s a couple early morning shots of a 259e steamer pulling 800 series freight cars and a Lionel Jr. Hiawatha streamliner.

well I had to fix a way for my cars not to roll on the auto transports I have so I went to balsa wood and cut some strips then alighn the wheels of the cars to where I needed them and there we are heres some pics of the process and I still have to remove the decals ( I’m guessing painted) from the metal frame and not sure if I’m going to be able from the plastic flat car.

great pics spanky and great work on that layout

All I can say is WOW Thanks for sharing Mark

Here’s a pair of boxcars that showed up at my house last week:

That’s one heck of a job you’re doing with that layout, Spankybird!!![tup]

Here’s my Lionel ABBA set with K-line 21" cars in tow.

Wow ! You guys have really set the bar hi today.

Tom, Great work. [tup] [bow] That should really help generate a whole lot of local interest for more people to get into the hobby.

Chessie GP-15’s on the upper level with a string of K-Line 4 bay hoppers.

The Rock Islands, 2 pwr and a dummy, with a string of 50 footers and a few gons.

Lots of passenger action, all roads represented were very busy and cars full. D&H and S.F. runnin’ the lowere level and in the far background a B&O crosses the bridge.

The FT’s pulling the B&O, 2power and 2 dummies.

Good Morning:

I have a couple of contributions this week. I have been trying to learn how to weather some structures. Here is what I have done:

John

John, That looks like the Chief delivering a few barrels of shine on the loading dock ! To be shipping by the barrel that must be one heck of an operation his honor has goin’ at the lake. [swg]

Takes a lot of motive power to pull a RARE I Love OH box car. Notice OH is in Carolina Blue.

Notice the signitures. Notice the lettering is Carolina Blue.

Doing a bit of work around the curve:

I am going to use a low wall here. This piece is two levels too high. I will cut this down to four levels high and stairstep it from the right, transitioning from earth to the wall:

This will proceed down the line a good bit, until I hit the place where a dirt road will crossover. At which point, I will stairstep it back down to ground:

Some pictures of my MTH layout

Here are a few from 201 Depot Street in Ann Arbor. The track, and trestles were origionally a coal dock. They were able to keep them in place, and still construct a new building.

Here are a couple from the Sand House I’ve been working on.

Kurt, you need to take a trip to the balmy South and work on a layout around Roseyville. Your skills will come in good. [bow]

Taycotrains, I see you have Realtrax and its switches. Are you having trouble with those like Buckeye, a few others and I are having? Pretty layout but just wondered.

I’m there! Pick-me up at the train station! I’ll be wearing the Blue No Grits T-Shirt!
