Here are a couple of pictures of my new makeover engine the N&W Class X 0-8-8-0:

If you didn’t see the thread showing the 2-8-8-2 to 0-8-8-0 make over here is a link

I’ve heard tell of the coming LIONEL “Legacy” system, so I thought I’d trot out my own:

On the left is my father’s first train set, purchased at Macy*s circa 1932, on the right my father-in-laws first train, circa 1938.

I hope I don’t get laughed out of the thread for this, but I am going to simply display some new freight cars that I have gotten recently in the last few months. I don’t have any type of layout right now, so here are the new cars in their debut:

The first is the CN Husky I just bought yesterday:

And here’s the ABB Schnabel Flatcar:

The Santa Fe Boxcar:

And last, but not least, the NS Husky Stack Car:

I am going to work on getting a better digital camera soon. My current one just doesnt take sharp enough pics like everyone elses, so I am going to look into one with better optics. But anyway, these are some of my new cars…of course more will be added to the railroad empire soon.

Chris

Just getting started–My first attempt at posting photo’s http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd39b3127cce885f2dbc412400000016100AZuWjRw3asWPA

That did not work as planned. How about this attempt?http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd39b3127cce885f2dbc412400000016100AZuWjRw3asWPA[img/]

Maybe a 3rd time is a charm.

EDIT: You got it!

Nice engine btw [:)]

Chris

Here you go…

Recently these pics were sent to me by an unnamed southern spy, while on a grits buying trip in th Nawth… I feel obliged to include them today. He caught an OTTS secret meeting.

Spanky, John, and Chuck relax around the coffee pot, while Buckeye sleeps through the meeting.

Or maybe it was TSchmidts banjo playing that gently put him to sleep

Not sure who the dog belongs to…Greg M and Don were last seen headed into town for booze…&*%$@# I mean supplies…Enjoy…Tim

OK Colin, Not only do I need the type of engine, but also the Manufacturer and year of production… Yea I know this one is really easy…Tim

Here are a few pics of my loco yard. The curve is 081 Atlas track at this location. All other curves are 072 except for 4 stubs where I used 036 switches from a previous layout.

I see some great shots on this thread. [:)]

My new E33 Virginian Rectifier.

Here is a pic of our Lionel Santa Fe Berk with our 12v DC to 110v 60Hz AC inverter on the left.
The Cream box on the top right is the 240v 50Hz AC to 13.8v DC 25 Amp transformer which we got this
week to replace the battery. This has our 50Hz compatibility issues solved.

Several years ago we started collecting “smokers”, they are small hand carved toy’s from Germany and are quite unique. Different villages produce their own style of smokers. We have a wonderful import store in our town, very small but the owners travel the world and offer quality products. Yesterday I found the “Toy Seller” and had to have it because it shows a small train that he is offering. The top half of the body is removeable and that’s where you place a small cone shaped incense and that’s what produces the smoke. Lots of fun.

Our newest addition

Here’s his buddies–just hanging around!

Here’s the web site, just for the fun of it. www.kwo-olbernhau.de

Its been a while since I had some pics on my layout.

Wish I could ride there

My coaling area

The start of my control pannel

A big think you to folks on the forum for their layout suggestions over time.

Here’s the final plan for the space I have. It uses O gauge tubular track with, O-31 curves, and O-22 switches. The table and layout are still temporary. The table top has not been leveled out, and nothing is attached.

Main section:

Note: The 45 degree cross piece between switches R4 & R5 has had the center rail contact strips on the underside de-soldered and insulated with 3M rubber eletricians wrap. This allows the two loops to be completely separate in terms of power, and they are controlled independantly with different throttles.

Extension off main section:

Note: This extension can be controlled by either throttle off of the KW transformer depending on how toggle switches are thrown. This allows trains from either loop to run here, or to move between the loops. It can also be isolated to act as a third loop with a third transformer controlling a third train.

Note: I had to make two trestles out of wood. They are shaped like an inverted keystone and use about a 5 degree angled cut on the top and bottom of the uprights.

The Western Maryland A Alco’s pulling passenger cars and crossing over the C&O freight.

The Western Maryland rounds the final O-31 curve onto the flats while the C&O crosses over the 45 degree crossover.
