Sunday Photo Fun 4/29/2012

Beep, Beep, Beep

Heres y latest addition a prewar #76 bell shack need to work on getting bell to keep ringing right now I can get it to ring once the it stops I have to move the ringer and it will repeat so it won’t keep ringing but need to look at it more Tuesday when I’m off

Walls removed except for workshop room. Getting ready to re-do ceiling, walls and floor. Then start constructing layout.

Working at the logging camp.

Some fun at the cabin.

nice score. gotta get one of theose.

Those trees must puff up when you cut them to get those logs…Ole Bobby on Swamp Cutter would like that…

Yeah, that is why they call them TOY TRAINS,

If you look at the size of the logs provided on the Atlas, Lionel and other log cars the trees would have to be larger than the biggest redwoods. [:O]

Nope!

I have a book with more examples of logs even bigger than the one on the car above.

Thanks for the photos Kev. And of course, a battle of wits breaks out to dispute even the most well intended of photos/comments.

Oh, I was only making a joke when I said they puffed up…When i was camping at Mt Rainier you didn’t have to walk far in the woods to stumble across the stump of some gigantic tree. Besides our log loaders probably work better with those logs then if you tried to put something small in there. I enjoy your pictures.

I have seen the pictures of trees long gone.

I never said it did not happen but all of those trees have been raped from the earth by the guys in those book pictures…

Woodland Scenics and others need to sell bigger trees I guess. Lets see how tall would they be on my layout. 3’ ??

Show me some pictures of trees logged today of that size or better yet the ones on your layout and lets see the size of their stumps.

Like I said “Classic Toy Trains”. We play with my trains. They are TOYS. my grandkids do not care.

There is a lot of places to do scale perfection but not on my layout.

After all it is called Sunday Photo Fun.

My thanks to all who post pictures of their layouts. Great shots and good ideas in everyone.

JMHO

Kev: That’s one BIG log!

Yep, the early days of logging resulted in some gigantic Cedar and Redwood logs.

Jeffrey, the Air Force F unit is very nice, is it copied after a real deal diesel ?

Not that I know of. It’s a trainset F2A Model Power shell on a Life-Like Proto 1000 drive with a can motor, Athearn trucks and drive shafts from God knows where. Quite a few of my locos are built from a mix new and used parts from different companies. Some of them are what I call ‘shotgun weddings’.

Kev, great job. Will have to get you and “53” (a scenery expert) to do my scenery.

Thanks,

Well first off Chief, your going to need to raise the ceiling in the box to accommodate the 5’ tall Redwoods, that will have those large stumps.

I’m not sure if that was directed at me, but here are some pictures from my various carpet centrals. If that isn’t a TOY train layout, I don’t know what is…

Very nice Santa Fe. I did not mean to out anything on anyone.

Like I said all of the pictures posted are worth seeing.

Our house has hardwood floors so I can’t do carpet.

Nice stuff! [:D]

Thanks

Chief, then the fun begins, looks like room enough for a nice size layout.
