Just wanted to see if I remembered how. I have to get busy on this. I decided to stain it with weathering like Frank 53 did to his retaining wall.

Roy, that video about knocked me off my chair. I had the audio turned up for a video that had a real low volume and when yours started it was LOUD.
I remember having to weather a retaining wall but I had to scrub all the moss and other gunge off it before I could start.

Was practicing with my camera at work today, & here’s cars that are headed to the scrap yard. A couple are loaded up on flats.

They are shipping old NYC MTA cars from NYC to Ohizo (???) to be scrapped??
All they needed to do was drop them on the Jersey Turnpike near Newark and by morning there would be nothing left [:D]

Seeing the Porter up there, how you like it? I’m pondering purchasing one. I cant seem to find one in O scale tho.
Yes, we have had about a hundred of these come here now, that are getting scrapped. A couple did get sold a while back to some museum or scenic RR in Loisville.

Here’s the addition to the birthday layout I made for my brother…added some more sidings and also added the passenger cars to the layout. Also gotten a new boxcar for him as well, which is the NH boxcar. Also wired some of the remote switches, and bought more bumpers to fill in the bumperless sidings.
Had to go hunting for this post on Page 2. Hope ain’t too late to add photos!
Oak Ridge Update
With Peanut Ridge completed, grading and trackwork continued on Oak Ridge and the Hound Mountain Chain beside the warehouse.
Photo one shoes a 9-foot-long single stretch of track ready to be installed on the upper mainline near the warehouse (shown installed further down with ballast not yet brushed away from rails). As you can see, the track is self-supporting, as there are 2 battons below the ties, a requirement in garden RRing for “floating” in the ballast as it gives a bite.
Photo two shows 2 trestles I’m building, the upper one I’m rebuilding. This time, affixed ties to the steel using Gorilla Glue and the upper longitudinal wood runners are affixed with Titebond III. THEN, I stained with Thompson Waterseal (learned from my mistake to do that last!!!)
Photo 3 shows a curry plant my sister gave me. Smells delightful!
You can see in the next photos the newly installed track with ballast not yet brushed. Another lower track spur, the bed prepared as you can tell, will run beside the warehouse for boxcars at the 8 bays.
The next photos show Hound Canyon River and some wild daisies that sprouted up on their own, as well as the small oak tree that the ridge takes its name from.
After the hard 3 days of labor, time for some barbequing. BB the beagle is guarding the grill against intruders. The bread you see here really tasted yicky. It was my first attempt at bread making and I used molasses as the sweetener. Maybe that’s why?
BB enjoyed some sun bathing.
