Sunday Photo Fun 6/21/20

Instead of “beauty” shots today, I’ll share a couple of pics with scars, marks and tattoos. I have several areas on the layout bereft of scenery. Here are pics of my Moorefield, WV area. Across from the Lionel 3656 cattle pen, I have to scratch build, or kit-bash, the South Branch Stockyard. Some false-front buildings will serve the siding track by the wall. The MTH Z-4000 will be mounted below the front edge of the return loop, and a “representation” of Fort Mulligan (Petersburg, WV) will be on top of the ridge.

No work on the layout yet, but the “Office” is taking shape.

Early start of garden RR and limited operations.

Unfortunately the trestle has since been taken out by a big tree limb. Maybe one of these days, if health co-operates, I’ll be able to resurrect the line.

Dougnotta - We need to do similar retaining wall in the future, along the backside of the house. I’d love to dabble in some G-Scale, but Wifey’s being a hard sell on it.

In a way they are making some big strides in the G stuff. I like some of the inovations that have been made with battery power, with the outdoor track it can be a bit of a pain cleaning the track. I went with a sanding pole, a dry wall application, using the scotch brite pads. No crawling around on hands & knees required. [swg]

That’s a really great looking garden railway ! I’m also spending a lot of time outside this year… I set up my train room ( HappyPlace) last year !

Looks great !

[Y][oX)] Thanks, Becky. That’s truly an awesome garden railroad. I daydream about owning the Bachmann Grizzly Flats steamer, and having a train snaking through the posies.

However, if I show my lovely wife that video, her focus will be on the double oven and side-by-side refrigerator over that man’s shoulder, quickly dashing the dream.

A guy at our church has a large garden railroad. He is a very smart man and has gone to all battery powered. I say smart because he was in on the beginning of this and figured it out.

Emphasize the GARDEN and minimize the train. [;)]
