Stopped by the Forum to post a photo and noticed It had not been started so thought I would go ahead an get Sunday Photo Fun up and going. Took this photo the other day after building and placing two stacks of ties near the weathered MTH Water Tower. A small project but, I was pleased with the way the two stacks turned out and thought they added something to the scene.
Hi AF53, thank you! The layout is located in the finished side of the basement and is actually “L” shaped. It is built around the walls and is 40’ long and at one end it is roughly 13’ wide and at the other about 17’ wide. To avoid a “duckunder”, just getting to old to want to do that, at each end there is a peninsula where the track then doubles back around.
Of course what you see in the photos is an area that has been completed. It does not all look like that. I just finally finished up work (if “work” is the right word) on one of the peninsulas when I set the Cronin Oil and Fuel facility in place. Here is a pic also taken the other day.
Shortly, I will be moving to the other side of the room to work on the urban part of the railroad. Urban modeling will be much different than what I have been doing.
AF53, I’d really appreciate it if you’d post one of your photos. Its mid-day and it’s getting kind of lonely here. The thread needs some photos. Thanks again. Bo [:)]
Jim, thanks! You just have to love those Lionel NYC F3s. Nice photo! I agree, during the summer people generally have a lot going on and posting simply is not always at the top of the list. I’ve been there too! Bo [:)]
Yesterday was our monthly “Kid’s Club” event at the museum. Below you will see their project for the day after a lesson on cleaning wheels and pick-up rollers. They are given the track and a rough plan then get down to work.
