RTrainCollector, it’s an interesting coincidence you posted the pictures of your trains on the shelves… I just recently got around to building a couple of shelves above my layout. I suppose my SPF pics are as much about the shelves as the trains… [;)]

The six-shelf unit above the engine terminal - I left a lip sticking up above the top shelf on either side to discourage the trains from rolling off the ends:

Above the end of the layout, I installed a wider, single shelf that can hold trains or a few boxed sets. I wouldn’t have been able to reach the upper levels if I would have built another 6 shelf unit, but the low, wide shelf is accessible:

Now, I just need to work on the shelves on the other end of the layout!

Here are my shelves with almost all American Flyer (not enough of them).

On the bottom are clockwork from the 1915-1920’s.

Next are some more clockwork and Electric outline locomotives and cars.

Next are prewar O Gauge 3/16 scale. (1938-1941)

Next two shelves are all postwar.

Top shelf is my Marx Wells Fargo and a 1926 set along with prewar accessories.

JamesP - NICE Marx clockwork! I was wondering where it all went!

Those are some nice collections, well displayed and presented. Thanks for sharing

Following the theme - Here are some photos of my collection on display. They have been posted before.

I sure enjoyed seeing the collections, as well as how the trains are displayed. I’ll see what ideas I can borrow for my display! AF53, the sad thing is there are more Marx windups on the shelves under the layout and on the opposite wall… More CV’s, 833’s, a lonely 943, not to mention the plastic body windups. It’s a sickness, but I don’t want to be cured… James
