Unique Art steamers

I don’t know how it will work out or for how long I might keep doing it, but I’m going to start including a hand-drawn sketch of the Christmas layout from which the pictures that I share came from. Starting today.

THe last 4 weeks or so are from my 2003 layout so I’ll do that one again to get the sketch in. I have the plateau drawn wrong but couldn’t figure out how the heck that I built the real layout to get the oblong look. Oh well.

The dashed line going diagonal is a 10’ long ramp that I built - it shows in the pictures. At the top of that is a curved trestle that I built and another one that holds a switch.

Walt,
That’s what you might call maximizing all usable space, that would take me forever to build. [8D]

Walt, great use of space for running trains.

[finally got the larger pictures to post when you click on them]

Hi everyone,

Some real trains from me this week. The first photo is the last piece of motive power on a UP coal train headed down to Denver.

This is a retired Rio Grande spreader at the Grand County Historical Museum in Hot Sulphur Springs, CO. Its an amazing piece of engineering.

Finally, my good-natured wife and baby sitting on a retired Ski Train caboose.

Hope everyone is well.

Wow Tgov, That just did fit [the UP in the tunnel]!!! Nice family.

Tgov,
What’s Grand Lake like now? We haven’t been up that way for a very long time, hope it hasn’t grown to much and spoiled the natural beauty of the area. Used to love to come up from the Estes Park side over the original gravel road to Trail Ridge Road. [^]

Afternoon All,
B&O FT’s both powered pulling the passenger consist. [8D]

Duelling Gooses, or is that Geese, who cares it is fun. One is mine, the background, the other, forground, belongs to another club member.

Some of the cars I bought today

Hello Dougdagrump (or, as Chief says, Doug Not a Grump),

Grand Lake is remarkably unchanged. The main street is still the only real commercial center, and each year roughly 20% of the businesses turn over. The restaurants are pretty much the same, but the Chuck Hole is for sale. We’re all hoping that someone buys it and keeps it the same.

Best,

Tom

Tom (a.k.a. Tgovbaker), The “Chuck Hole” used to have one of theeee best chiliburgers back when they first opened. Wonder how many times it has changed hands in the past 30+ years. Most of the people we knew there either sold out and left or passed away.
Fond memories. [^]
P.S. Almost forgot, do they still have the “Buffalo Barbeque” ?

Once Again All are good Thanks Steve
