We have done it again. The Boys at The Western Reserve Model Railroad Museum built a 105 car train at 107 feet Long. Do you think this is a record?
Here is a Video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtbr-9sngI0

Pictures of the Lionel display and layout at the LCCA convention in Denver

Spankybird…WOW…that’s gotta be a record.
i got this lionel gg1 tmcc the other day
Great pics and video guys - love that long train and the displays [tup] The GG1 is iconic, great buy man! [:)]
105 cars…Fantastic! (This “older” guy and his “Chief Engineer” - The financial officer on my railroad - can’t resist asking: How much do 105 cars cost and how is the cost funded?) Great consist. Thanks for sharing.
I hate to burst your bubble Spankybird, but when we were at the Brandywine River Museum last fall they had an extremely long O gauge train running. In conversation with one of the operators, he told me it had 125 cars. I did not count them, but assume he was telling it straight. It was Looooong.
Bill T. BTW that looks like George Watson in one of the Lionel pictures. Do you know if it is?
Not sure who it is John, Lionel had 4 or 5 techs operating the Layout.
Here is the new Lionel 1BSA 100th Anniversary Boy Scout Freight Train Set
Here is the set out of the box
All cars die cast trucks .
Great photos everyone and thanks for posting. I particularly like the AF Atlantic.
Last week I was up in Duluth MN for a family function, and it was the same weekend that there were some special visitors in town. While these are not train photos, nor are they train related I thought I would share some of the fun I had that wasn’t associated with trains.
There were 9 tall ships in the Duluth harbor for part of last week and the weekend. It was very impressive to see that many ships in one place. I doubt that I will have an opportunity like that again. I thought for a while of adding a few ships to a harbor on the Blueboard Central, but I don’t think they would make it up the Mississippi and then the Wisconsin river to make it here.
I can see why folks like to model tall ships.
Tom, looks like a real UP coal drag coming out of the Powder River Basin. Great job.
Tom…Great job!!
Bill T. … The photos of the Lionel layout are great. There a few of us that have seen the layout at York, but there are more that have never seen the layout. Your areial view was great.
Now for a really big layout.
John - yes that is George in the LCCA photo above. I had a chance to go with the team but was out of town that week on other business. The guys raved about the LCCA convention. It was another great one. The LCCA convention is in Dallas next year!
Nice photos guys. Northwoods, I have seen the tall ships a few times. Once in Baltimore Harbor, another time in Bermuda, and again at Top Sail in NYC. They are always impressive.
Spankybird, I had heard that the world’s record was set in Germany and I think it had like 150 cars on it. I think they had to use rubber bands on the couplers. But still, yours was a very impressive consist.
Dennis
Well, Spankybird. I think it was great !!!
Chuck
BTW - Meant to mention earlier…
Spankybird - the layout in the new museum location is looking great! Nice job to your group!
I guess we will just have to add another 46 cars to it.
Northwoods - Thank you, Sir. Those tall ships are part of a special flotilla that are touring the Great Lakes this year. It is something to sail up to them out on the Bay.
Greg - You are showing two on my wish list,
The 21089 Washington and the 353 Circus train!!!
Thanks!
Jim
