Sunday Photo Fun Easter Sunday

Happy Easter All,

Well last week Buckeye gave me the idea of posting old Christmas pictures. I re-shot these with my camera. They didn’t turn out to bad.

This was 1947, this was 1 ½ before I was born.

This is my Big brother, Mom and Grandmother.

This is two of my cousins with their mom and dad. I not sure what year, but it was before I was born.

And on Easter Sunday we should be going to church

That is pretty good Tom. Happy Easter.

Here’s a photo that I took 10 months ago in Glenwood Springs,CO.

An SP and UP lashup.

Click photo to enlarge.

Very nice Roger,

I like the size of the pic when you clik on it.

I certainly agree…I wi***hese would expand to their orginal 640 X 480 size - I think the pic hosting sites limit them.

Anyway, just got back from Easter Mass so I’m ready to relax and spend the rest of the day doin’ some SERIOUS toy train putzin’!!! Rainy, cold (55 deg F.) in Austin, so it is a PERFECT day to hear that clickety-clack sound…and smell that Honey Baked ham warming in the kitchen.

Did you folks catch all the hullabaloo the new MTH catalog is causing on OGR? Sounds like Mikey has come back with a vengeance!!! Hang on to your wallets, folks…

Jim (Still hoping to find the Golden Egg) Duda

Happy Easter everyone!

The Easter Bunny stopped by and filled a hopper full of candy for the boys.[:)]

Craignor - I followed your lead and told the operator of the #397 coal loader to “fill er up!”…but alas, another Easter and STILL no Golden Egg…!!! (sigh)

Jim (still keepin’ my fingers crossed!) Duda

Jim,

Great pic of the loader…did you run it like that or is that a static display?

Thanks for the great shots - Happy Easter! [:)]

Craignor - the “eggs” are a little too big to stay in the conveyor flaps…as it bumps and grinds, they have a tendency to bounce out of their spot and roll back down the conveyor belt. But smaller size candies work GREAT! The 3469 Ore Dump Car was made to dump candy, though! The same load in it works fantastic, especially since the jelly beans are rounded. I wonder how many tons of candy that car has dumped over the generations? Wish I had some Faberge eggs to dump from it…(wink)

Went home to Indiana this Easter. The folks still live there along the main line of the CSX, formally Chessie, formally B&O. This photo is of the water tower of Garrett, Indiana, the home of the RAILROADERS. (What a wonderful name for your schools sports teams.)

Lets try these. My Father-in-law gave me these books today. Excellent shape.
Inside cover of first one [stamped Pacific Electric Railroad.

Found this inside the book. Anyone know what it is?

The other book. stamped H. S.McCreary Limber Co. Montgomery, Alabama

Brought most of my engines home from storage at Mom’s. Pictures to follow. Think the above is a great find. Lists all the railroads taht signed the Freight Interchange Agreement and the Passenger Car Interchange Agreement. Bet I can find “ancient” railroads that are gone. I see some right off the bat. Might scan and post those pages too.

Jim,

Family traditions are terrific especially when they involve candy and trains!

Hi Chief,

Great pieces of History. Good luck with all your old trains from storage.

Craig - Ya know what? I’m convinced that MY golden egg is hidden in the Chiefster’s tomato patch somewhere…and he probably found it by now…!!!

Let’s see what new stuff he gets from the “Easter Bunny” soon.

Well hand painted and decaled from the early 80’s

This is the dummy but have three more strapped to one E unit. Pulled 23 cars on 60’ long one way dual line layout. Long and strong train.

Got two A’s and one B all painted and decaled like this.

All head on.

Where did this come from?

All also have individual road numbers.

look a pennsy BEEP!!![:D]

Jimbo, I found it!!! Under a squash palnt. What is this Screaming Eagle thing? Especially pulling into Chapel Hill, NC. Insult to us NCSU gards. Maybe pulling into Rolesville, NC [that has no tracks, use to have short line from quarry].
