Sunday Photo Fun

I guess I’ll get us started this week. It has been a while since I posted photos so I hope I still remember. Today was our youngest child’s third birthday. After his afternoon nap, we braved the heat and humidity to set up some FasTrack on our back patio. We had fun and if you watch the video, you’ll hear me expressing some caution at one point.

Nice video, Joe. You and your son need a little more practice. LOL

Nice video Joe, that’s what toy trains have always been about. Just having fun.

Happy Birthday to your son.

Great pics and video Joe you’ll get better we all do as we keep doing it.

JoeD - SJ said it all. Toys and fun. (Esp when the kids are around).

Joe, 120V and 60hz?

Chief,

It’s 100V and 50hz. It does affect some of the operating features, especially on the locomotives equipped with Trainsounds. The pre-war loco doesn’t like it either. Unfortunately, without spending a nice sum of money on a transformer/converter, there’s nothing I can do about it. Fortunately, I should only live here another 16 months or so.

Thanks for all the nice comments folks. I’ll probably due this more often during the summer as the youngest prefers to be outside during these months rather than running the trains on the UTB RR.

Joe, John Baker in England did this. Bought a converter to convert AC to 12V DC [automotive type] . Then a cheap inverter from 12 DC to 120 V AC 60 hz. [at a camping supply or Bass Pro]. Worked great for his Lionels.

Chief,

I tried that and a few other ideas but could not fix the issue. Oh well, I can make it another 16 months without Trainsounds; after all, I made it 30 years or so without it.

Thanks,

Joe
