Sunday, uh Weekend Photo Fun

That’s another great shot Tom. I love the trees. Any tips from the master on those???[:D]

Excellent pics guys, thanks for the response/explanation Aggro, I shoulda known there was a good reason for it[:D]

Heres another quick contribution from me while I take a break and slurp some coffee.

Just added :- Ferns and Cattails.

And dont ask me how [%-)] or the prototypicality of the situation but …

A British Rail Intercity 125 rounds the bend at Gator Creek, headed for Pineridge on a minor detour from its usual route of London to Scotland. (I think it went to Scotland)[:)]

This was the first train I ever bought myself when I was about 9. I fell in love with it the first time I saw the Hornby ad for it, spent 18 months saving for it and eventually bought it for 29.99UK about $60, for an A unit, dummy B and a coach back in the late 70’s.

Have fun & be safe,
Karl.

You mean, how well does it run, or how does it run?

If you’re asking how well, it runs very well. Smooth and powerful, but very noisy. It might quiet down a bit once it’s been run for a while.

If you’re asking how it runs, than there is a Pittman DC71 motor over the rear set of drivers mounted at an angle. There is a drive shaft with Athearn style couplings going to a worm over the front set of drivers. The picture I posted earlier shows the front drivers.

Sorry, I have no idea It was sitting on a shelf not being used so I painted it up and stuck it in the back of the passenger yard I got stuck wi–volunteered for at the club.

SpaceMouse!!! 5 stars!!! Congratulations!!!

the kit you are refering to done by space mouse and myself is made by bachman. It is a car repair shop, but makes a great engine shed also. I got mine on ebay for 8.75. There might still be a couple floating around. Mine is n scale, but I think i did see one at one time in ho…just do a search and see what turns up. hope this helps you some. medic

Any Santa Fe fans around here? [8D]

Grande man: the trees are made by M-Tec here in Sacramento. I get them through Bruce’s Trains in Sacto, or Railroad Hobbies in Roseville. You could probably order them directly from their website: www.mtec1.com The Aspen/poplar are lot #MT-14 and retail at $6.95 for either two or three of them in a pack, depending on the size. I should own stock in the company, for all the ones I have dotting my streambeds, LOL! But they’re cool trees, aren’t they? Natural, too. I have no idea what they’re made out of, but those leaves look REAL!

Thanks Tom. I’ve got their site bookmarked. Wow, they aren’t cheap. [V] They do look great though.

Well, all of my weekend projects have been on rolling stock. I’ve decaled a crane and kitbashed a crane tender.

I’ve also put the Cedar Branch & Western decals on the GP 20 I’ve been laboring over. While digging in my box of decals for the crane tender, I found some left over MR Turtle Creek Central stuff. So, I decorated a hopper, too!

Maybe next weekend the engine will be complete and I can watch it go 'round and 'round.

Great pictures, everyone. This repeating topic is a great reason to visit here at least once a week. [tup]

I’ve got those flowers growing in the empty field across the steet from my house!
(i think it is called “candy turf”)
I’ve made trees from them before, but not as good as those store bought ones.
But that was a few years ago. NOW I can probably match them if I TRY. [(-D]

[bow][bow][bow] back at’cha, Aggro. After your evergreens, you could probably do Aspen to have us going into Terminal Drool, LOL!

Hi Guys,

i built a service crane for my railroad shop. The truck was a three axle Mack tractor, i added a fourth axle and a Bilstein crane assembly from Kibri:

Tom would it be possible for you to upload a larger image of those excellent trees, I think I’ve got the plant to try and make some but your pic, and the one on the web site are a bit small for me to see the exact detail, would be great if you could, thanks.

Cheese that looks as though its coming on great, looking forward to the next instalment

Matt : that wagon looks great, just seeing the name ‘airfix’ takes me back to 7yrs old building model planes on the kitchen table. [:)] happy days

Art : looking good, trees make all the difference, but you’d be surprised how many you need, I already doubled my estimate and I’m only a third planted.

It’s been a busy two days, and one night here, but I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made. The scene isn’t finished yet, still a few more things to add, such as some weeds around the dock piles and mailbox, a few more details on the pier, and of course some signage are the main things.

But, heres how it started for me late Thursday afternoon…

By early evening 3 hours later I had built the new trestle and put a dirt road in

From there it was just details and figuring out the tale to tell…
Overview of Gator Creek Bait Shop and Fishing Pier.

The Short family are on a day trip to Gator Creek for some fishing and family time.Dad leaves Mom and the kids watching the swans while he goes into the bait shop to hire a boat.

At the front of the shop, worker Dave is replacing a couple of boards on an old row boat. Dave has to stop and look up at the bosses son who’s complaining Daves taking too long and Dave needs to clear up the trash from the walkway. Daves mumbles somet

Some scenery work this A.M.
Can be a tuff neighborhood !!!

JIM

What a buitetiful(sorry about the spelling)Engine,you realy run that??Somday I will have one,NICE
JIM

Don’t worry, I can hardly spell it too. Yes, I really run it. Believe it or not, it makes it around 18" curves without a problem. If you do get one someday, just remember to take your time, don’t rush and make sure you’re doing it right. But it is ok to make a personal modification once in a while, like I did on the valve gear.[:)]

aggro, NICE trainmaster!(cant let a pic. of an FM go by without commenting). this is the first chance i"ve had to get on the forums this weekend as my PC died thursday night[V], so i"m useing my sons pc to get my forum fix[:D]. AWSOME pics. and work done by all!! keep em coming!

A little bit different take on SPF or WPF:

I’ve seen many comments about how there should be a few wide shots to see the overall layout so I thought I would post pictures of all four walls of my train room. The photo of the south wall is stitched together from two phots because I couldn’t back up far enough. [:I]
