Surface Transportation Board to hold April hearings on rail service issues
Once again more government overreach. It’s simple, mother nature has been the driving force behind most if not all of the service problems in the northern half of the US and in parts of our neighbors to the north. If I was in charge of bnsf or cp I’d tell Congress we got no time for that kind of dog and pony show and would respectfully decline the invite. How many tax payer dollars will be wasted on these meetings. Wake up washington.
It’s not just the waste of money that is a concern. There is virtually nothing the STB can possibly do to make things better. They can certainly make things worse, and they probably will.
The BNSF is acting and spending aggressively to deal with the problem. That’s about all that can be done.
