Sweethome Alabama video - Part 5

After making some new trees for Sweethome alabama, I’ve uploaded the first video made using my new video editing suite, Vegas Movie Studio 9.

It’s an improvement over the quality of Windows Movie Maker, but I’m still learning the ropes and have already had a suggestion to improve the rendering for better playback

The subject of this one is a Norfolk Southern MP15 (SOU) switching a few cars. The timespan is quite generous, representing anywhere within a 15 year or so period.

With more practice I hope to get the same quality as I do on my own camera.

You know you are a Train Nut when you watch switching on the computer!

What I did not like is when you changed scenes the sound cut out before the picture did.

If I remember right Jon, this is a small modular layout about 4 to 6 feet long? Boy I would love to see what you would do if you had my 500 square foot room!

Thanks for the comment. I’m still getting used to the editing suite, having been used to Windows Movie Maker. The audio files are separate from the video so when I inserted the transitions, some of the clips overlapped, and one of the audio files somehow got onto the scrolling title . But it’s early days

This layout is 11ft long with a further 5 ft fiddle yard at one end. Small layouts mean you can make substantial progress in a short space of time…and the whole layout can be ballasted in 2 or 3 days.[tup]
