Switch Issue

I’ve been tinkering around with the train set and the extra EZ track I have. I made a temporary layout

and if I switch the engine from switch 1 to eiether track A or track C. But If I try switch two and try to get the locomotive onto track B then it just stops. I know the engine shuts off if the switch is thrown and the current goes to a different track, but I haven’t figured this out. Will probably be good to know what to do when I make sidings/yards in the future.

So basically I’m asking why does the engine stop even if I have switch 1 correct and the engine should go to switch 2 and onto track B,but instead it stops.

Sorry if I confused anyone.

Where is your power feed? It should be on the tail track (the other end from A B or C).
Now check your switch 2. Run your train into track B till it stops. Look at where the back end stopped. If it’s past the switch on the next section of track, you probably have a bad rail joint. If it’s still on the switch, there may be a bad connection in the switch. Take a piece of wire or a penny and join the pont to the rail it’s supposed to be touching. If the loco starts, there’s a problem. See if anything is between the point and the stock rail – dirt, dust, grit.
Move the wire up until you get past the pivot. Does it start here? There’s a bad connection.

having used peco insulfrog power routing turnouts i have found that you have to keep the area where the point and stock rail make contact with each other clean to allow power to flow into the track past the frog. you could also power the track with feeders beyond the frog as previously mentioned but you would lose the power routing feature.

I set up a new track configuration and the switches still act up(I have three now). Sometimes the locomotive goes over them fine, when switching from one track to another, and other times it just hits the switch and stops. And I can’t even put an engine onto a siding. EZTrack being “easy” seems to be a farce to me.
