Switches

I would like to know where I can get two O-72 switches for my lionel set-up. I have traditional track…nothing fancy. My grandchildren are enjoying the layout, and I would like to add a little more. This layout is strictly for playing. It is on our living room floor for easy assembly and take down. Thanks.

If you don’t have a local toy train hobby shop or train show in your area, eBay may be your best bet for picking up a pair of O72 switches. If you want to stick with Lionel, I would try to find the older prewar switches, as they operate smoother than their newer O72’s.

If you like you can use Ross Custom switches but will need adapter pins as the rails are more like old American Flyer two rail, may have to put some popsicle sticks underneath the switches to bring them up to Lionel track height.
Lee in south Florida.

I would call some of the big advertisers in CTT (Classic toy trains magazine) if you need to mail order something in. If you call a few you can usually find better prices than you can get on ebay.
