I can’t claim this, but a guy at the club (teen even, we are good for something!) came up with a really good idea and I had to share it with you. So here goes. Note, I reccomend this only for the plastic couplers, you’ll see why.
- Take a few of your clone couplers, and shove a piece of dowel rod through the screwhole. This is a paint holder,
- paint your coupler in whatever safety color the RR is using, be it yellow, white, a neon green, orange, etc.
- now, push the knuckle shut until it pops over the stopping nub. You should have a nearly permanently shut coupler.
- Next, cut your coupler 3/4 of the way down the shank so the short end is on the coupler end. Discard the rest. the short section is to give you something to grab hold on.\
- Clamp it to a rail, sank up out. Instant wheelstop!
**Alternatively,**glue a styrene disk to it, paint it blue, and instead of cutting the shank, clamp it to the rail as a Blue Flag.
