I was wondering if anyone can remember if there is an issue of MRR with an article about “Switching Puzzles” i.e. part of a layout used to re-order freight cars. This could be used for building train consists.
I am pretty sure I’ve read one such article but it would be very helpful if anyone could tell me what issues are covering this subject.
These are the two most famous “puzzles”. Thier names may help you search. The was an article in MR a few years back about how to incorporate these into a track plan.
Have a look at MR May issue on page 34. Track plan for a port on a shelf is an example of Inglenook Siding that can be incorporated in any layout, large or small. You can use such arrangement of tracks as a yard or a puzzle.
