I currently use the prodigy dcc system that controls up to 32 locos and am considering upgrading to the prodigy express.
My question is this. I have purchased approximately 20 mrc switch decoders (AD360) but have not installed them yet. I am seriously considering upgrading to the prodigy express and would like to know if the ad360 decoder would be compatable with that system.
Also how many of the ad360 decoders could i use with it. I have many turnouts (24-30) that i want to use the decoders for. I currently have 8 engines but usually only run max of 3 at one time.
So how many active addresses are allowed at one time, engines and decoders with the express system.
The Prodigy Express does not support stationary decoders; HOWEVER, the AD360 does not operate like a normal stationary decoder, it uses a mobile decoder address, so you will be able to control it with the Prodigy Express (Wayne probably already knows this since he has the original Prodigy and it does not support stationary decoders, but I thought I would throw this out there for anyone else reading this). As far as how many can you have, the AD360 uses a short mobile address(1-127), so if you stick to long addresses for the engines you could have 127 turnout addresses. Since turnout control does not have to stay in the stack (you do not have to have constant control of the turnout like you do with an engine) I see no reason why you would not be able to control all 127 turnout addresses.
