November 4th, this Friday is Take a Model Train to Work Day. So, what model railroading paraphenalia are you planning on taking into work? I’ve been working on a small diorama that I’m going to take into my office, if I get it done in time. Actually, I plan on leaving it there permenently after the 4th, but its nice to have a deadline, to keep me focused on completing it.
I don’t know, I was thinking of taking my 0-8-0 since veryone loves steam, but I am still afraid that it will get broken or something like that. plus, some teacher will probably take it away allegding it as distracting. Anyways, its probably not worth taking them to school but when in the job force, it seems like a great idea
I’m not working Friday: I have to take my wife tot he big city for medical tests.
But I have a small, N-scale diorama in my office every day. I also run a Lionel set on a circle of track under the little Christmas tree I put on top of the file cabinets every year.
Last year when a few guys at my office (myself included) heard about it for the first time, it was the seed for some light-hearted ribbing (“Hey, it’s national take a model train to work day, and I didn’t even buy you a card or decorate!”)
So this year I plan on setting a piece of flextrack along the top of my wall and set up a small train headed by a 2-8-2, just to show 'em…
TAKE A TRAIN TO WORK DAY…Sounds like a hell of a idea!!
Do have 3 small steamers , one plastic one rubber and one wood on my file cabinet, but hell,I got a spot for my G-scale ten wheeler and a caboose!! plus a little wall space for picture’s…And for real fun 3 different sizes of train whistles…gonna drive’em nuts!
wish i could take somthing in, but it would get takin up by a teacher within seconds. plus i wouldn’t have the time. i could always bring the new mrr magazine that just came in the mail yesterday in( YAY! I finally got a subscription), but i wouldnt have time to read it, and i would have to deal with the mockery of the stupid jocks that dont have an ounce of creativity in their body, let alone a brain cell
