We have been gone for the past 4 months hosting at a campground near here. I figured out a way to take my trains with in our RV. A gun case worked for transporting the trains safely. I made a small loop 36 x 75 and took a 072 circle of track to set up on tables. What fun we had setting this up on a picnic table in the campground and watching all the kids. Ages from 2 to 89 all gathered and watched the trains. Simple but fun layout and everyone enjoyed it.

Sounds like the kids (big and small) had a great time. A good way to spread the word of model - toy trains.
Well the love of trains and the hobbie sure shows . Just proves that you can do anything when you want.

When we go someplace, we never thought about the O, but had a small N setup on some plywood.
I was like Chris - I had a 3 by 5 table in N scale - I could fold the legs down and slide it behind the couch.
cool idea. one problem though. if you whent somewere tropical couldent sand screw stuf up???

You are a smart thinker. Next time try getting some brochuers and pencils from The Worlds Greatest Hobby Campaign. They work wonders. Also, you might try buying Lionel’s Polar Express or Thomas Set to have running when there are little kids there. You might want to let some older children control the trains. The younger ones could to, But watch them carefully. I do all that stuff when Relatives come for christmas, thanks giving, and when I set them up at church festivals. I leave out the pencils and brouchers when I’m at home though.
