I just got done leaving a post in a thread over in the dcc and electronics forum. It was another bashing of a fellow model railroader simply asking for help.
I’m done. I need a break. Simply a very nice and polite question asking for help and it turns into “you should have known better”. I’m getting aggravated and need to cool off. So when the bashing ends I’ll be back. I hope everyone reads this…
Hmm, I spend most of my time at the Elec./DCC forum and I never saw that. Of course that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. Sheesh, stay away from General Discussion too…it gets a lot worse than I have ever seen the Elec./DCC forum get. Anyway, no need to be so disturbed by this kind of behavior. It happens. Rather than making a thread out of it thus giving more notice to the trouble makers than they deserve…why not just hit the report abuse button. If you are really bothered send the offender a PM and tell them what you think of their behavior. Just remember to treat them as you would wish to be treated under the same circumstances. [:)]
Sparky I hear you.I wonder about some people on here getting so rude with new people.I dont know much about DCC so I peruse a lot and ask friends.I have thick skin but hey even I have limits.
I ave had t take breaks too so dont feel bad. Well keep your spot warm for you but come back soon. SOmeone may need your help you never know.
sparkyjay31,
Not to be offensive, but you have got to grow a thicker skin. If someone saying “You should have known better when you bought an MRC sound engine” (in response to someone complaining about theirs) causes you to quit the forum, then you aren’t going to be a member of too many forums. Try going to any other hobby or interest forum…photography, rocketry, sports, etc. It’s all the same 'cause people are people wherever you go.
I’ve been on the MR Forums going back to the days of when it was just Andy Sperando posting a monthly question in a Guestbook format. This is nothing compared to what has happened and what will happen in the future. You just have to learn to roll with the punches, or it will eat you up inside.
route rock,
FYI, the guy who was on the receiving end of the “bashing” (and I use that term lightly) has been on this forum for over 3 years and has over 800 posts. He’s hardly a “new guy”…and he also has not complained about this “bashing”. Sparkyjay31 is getting offended on someone else’s behalf…he himself has not been the target of any bashing on either thread.
I think this pretty much explains what’s been going on with the MRC issues and why folks have been so angry about them. I found it enlightening. Might even explain the gruff reception in the DCC forum:
I read over the topic and am not seeing what the big deal is about it. I’ve seen far worse - assuming that Dave wasn’t playfully teasing Bruce. They have both been forum members for a while now and likely know each other.
If it really bothered you that much, hit the ‘report abuse’ button and let the moderators make the call.
If you think you need a break from the forum, fine. However, I would advise against going public about it. I speak from experience when I say that these types of ‘I’m mad and I’m leaving…’ topics rarely go over well.
I read the thread. Davidmbedard is a great guy and a supurb contributer to this forum, and was merely pointing out the obvious to a SEASONED modeler.
You are WAY off my friend. You need to apologise to David for your childish like behaviour. It is people like YOU that make this forum uncomfortable with your ridiculous statements.
I am locking this threa since its use is now moot. However, I would like to direct those who feel Sparky was out of line to look back at Blind Bruce’s thread over in DCC and see if perhaps a little crow eating isn’t in order.
Think first, then speak. And that applies to the hasty speakers in this thread, too. [:(!]
