The Amtrak petition underlying the FRA notice was actually filed with FRA on January 2, 2018 - over a month ago. So, Amtrak must have made made the decision to use the Wisconsin trainsets within a week or two after the Cascades accident. The petition is available on the “Regulations.gov” website (enter “FRA 2018-0005” in the search bar)

The Talgoes (sp?) were set out at Avondale CO (AAR/TTC connection east of Pueblo) by BNSF by Wednesday and pulled up into the Test Center shortly after that.

Assume Michigan DOT signed-off on this.

[/quote “(sp?)”]MC, a Talgo is not like a potato or tomato; it is more like a piano.[(-D]

Au contraire, I suggest it might be more like a tornado… keeping with the Spanish and not Nahuatl roots.

And piano, like mother, is only half a word.
