The San Francisco Bay Area has some of the highest living costs in the country. At least they have a union willing to go to bat for them. SEIU in the past was timid when dealing with BART management.
Greedy much? Already high paid at 71k with guaranteed raises.
Where’s the anti-Amtrak idiotic nonsense criticism from the Goose??
Unemployment is high right now, and the economy is in the cesspool. Active Duty US Military Personnel are getting the lowest COLA raises in decades, and they’re demanding 12%?
Replace them all!
That is barely a living wage especially for that region. The economy isn’t in a cesspool, after all the politicians see güt to play games with our livelihoods while they’re still getting fully paid… And replace them all? LoL what an idiotic remark, easier said than done. Yes, replace the managers with competent ones. There’s probably too many of them on the payroll overseeing and producing nothing unlike those who actually move the public.
I have seen first hand the DC Metro behind the scenes and I can tell you there are plenty of areas to tighten up. They really need outside oversight to fix operations and deliver better service at lower costs and I’m sure BART has the same problems.
@MIKE WARREN - From what I know of Bay Area housing prices, 71k isn’t a living wage over there. It’s not greedy to demand a living wage.
Not that I’m endorsing the strike, as I don’t think unions have any idea how much they undermine the future of public transportation by disrupting it, but the cause, at least, is just.
