Duncan always responds to emails. There is also a Tam Valley group on Yahoo. Someone just made a JMRI template for Singlets. But not every system can program accessory decoders on the main.
But there’s no reason to read back CVs on them. Nor is there any reason to program CVs. It’s all in the instructions. Set the program jumper on, ONE of them, and issue a switch command. Whatever address you used will be the accessory address of that Singlet. They also respond to a specific loco (not accessory) address for those system that can;t do accessory decoder programming ont he main - to get to those CVs, you simply use programming on the main, Ops Mode, to that address, which is in the instructions, and set the CVs. You can set endpointsm change the color of the LEDs (if you have the bicolor LED version, set the movement speed, etc.
I have a dozen of them and did not have any problem getting them set up with my Digitrax system, which cannot do accessory programming on the main. Far as I’m concerned, these are the greatest thing in a long time, Cheaper than Tortoises these days, they repond to DCC commands but also have buttons and LEDs for manual operations. I buy them without servos and get cheap 9G servos on ebay, about 6 for $13.
I have the same set up as you. I had to find the instructions that came with the singlet and followed them and it worked first time. It even tells you how to make them run slower or faster, but I found the default setting was fine. No need to read any CVs as I recall. cheers Alan
