Alaska state announces completion of road and Alaska RR Tanana river bridge. No indication when train service will begin

So can I expect to see it on a future episode of Railroad Alaska? You know, between the 95% of the non RR related drama [:(]

“Beyond benefits to the military and our economy, this bridge will be a major benefit to the community of Salcha by stopping ice-jam flooding from destroying homes,” he said.

Does anyone know how this bridge will stop ice-jam flooding?

Apparently there was also a levee built which will serve that purpose.

I wondered why they would want to build a RR to Delta Junction. I looked at the wiki link on Fort Greely. The army was downgrading it, but now it is to be a major site for anti-ballistic missiles, Its on the shortest air route between N Korea and the lower 48 states.
