I don’t have any links but it was mentioned on the radio that highway 10 crossing into Wisconsin was closed both ways. Tank car leaked anti-freeze and split in half as one radio station was reporting.
I don’t have a link but found an article on it in the St.Paul Pioneer Press. Trains emergency brakes came on. Only two workers on the train got out and walked pretty far back to this tank car which was leaking radiator fluid. It had about a 4 inch crack in the side. As they were looking at it the cars middle collapsed basically splitting in half. I’m guessing that the cars body losing shape seperated the air line and thus sending the train into emergency.
OOPS. This be not good. At least, the good news is that it wasn’t something really nasty. Small comfort, that.
Ethylene glycol may not be flammable but it IS poisonous.
