Taylors Falls Mn line

I drove through there Monday of this week and couldn’t miss the roadbed along the bluff line above the road I was on. Did the line turn south and follow road 95? I saw cement footings that looked like they were for bridges but I don’t know if they were for RR bridges. Through a few hours of google searches I can find some photos and history or the line established in the 1880s? and then the last train out of town in 1948 or 1949. Locally famous engine #328 ran on this line and the line to Stillwater because it was a very light engine. Does anyone have any more info or links or this line?

Highly recommend “The Taylors Falls & Lake Superior Railroad” written by Richard E. Thompson and Steven J. Monson published by the Iron Horse Central Museum in Chisago City, MN. Route and pictures are covered there. Yes 328 ran on this line. The last train ran on June 30, 1948.

The book is a great resource and a fun history of the region. I found the book on Amazon for way too much money. You might contact the museum or Steven Monson. Richard Thompson died recently and that may put the museum in limbo.
