I just got an e-mail update from TCS talking about the up-coming NMRA show in Detroit inviting folks to come to the booth to… “This year we will be featuring a prototype handheld for our future system and it will be available to try out at the show!”…I read this to mean that TCS will be entering the DCC command station and control arena. Anyone know anything about this?
I spoke to John Forsythe (owner of TCS) a while back regarding this. From what I was told at the time, the walk-around throttle will be including a hi-def full color screen similar to that used on the latest cell phones !!! The throttle control is via a spring-loaded lever that has a center neutral position - press it forward, it increases speed - release it and it returns to center and hold that speed. Pull it back to decrease speed. I don’t remember exactly, but I seem to recall something to the effect the screen is touch sensitive for accessing commands … and it is to be wireless as well !!!
I for one am holding out to see just how it all plays out - sounds facinating !!!
