Team track ramp

Not too long ago there was a post about team tracks and equipment that would be around them for loading and unloading and a ramp was mention there. I was rolling my 18 wheeler through Chattanooga on I-24 the other day and noticed something interesting in a rail yard there and thought it may be of interest to some here. It was a ramp at the end of the track I think or maybe a heavy duty bumber. Anyway, it was an old flatcar with one end with the truck at the end of the track and the other end buried in the ground. It appeared to have the coupler removed. I didn’t get a real good look at it, as traffic was a might heavy at the time. It would be another interesting use for an old flat car besides a cheap bridge for a small stream on a farm. Ken

ken several years ago there was an article on modelling this flat car turned ramp in MR usiing an HO scale athearn 85 foot flat car.
