I’m sure this exists somewhere on this site but wanted to pass it along as well. I’m a close to retiring automotive tech and has found a tech tip I’ve used many times throughout. And getting back into HO after growing up a Marklin kid I’ve decided to go with the realistic atlas nickel ( code 100 sorry) it cheaper !! And in this business I’ll take it. Anyway HO being as small as it is here’s the tip. Magnetic screwdrivers don’t always help. Screws shifted around and doesn’t cooperate. Soooo…take a dab of grease either put it on the end of the driver or the screw and wala the two will stick together quite nicely to help finish the job . So with Shakey hands and such and falling peepers might be a nice tip to pass along. Other tips would be nice to here as well. G.

I’ve used that grease trick too… sometimes your screw isn’t made out of steel and a magnetic screwdriver is useless anyway. Funny enough, one situation where this is often the case is when working on my vintage Märklin. Many of the screws are steel, but a good few are not.

Alene’s tacky glue might be another choice. Once it dries it will easily peel off and not leave any residue.
