Teen Model Railroader Place - January 2009

Just starting up a new thread to replace the old one which was locked by Bergie because it was too long. Here’s a link to the previous version:

Teen Model Railroader Place

Enjoy the new place, and here’s a photo to kick off the new thread!

Well, as the first new post pertaining to model railroading on the new thread, why did I just say that? [:D]

Anyways, today, I sealed my U23B and a boxcar w/ my semi-gloss finish stuff, and I’ve added the powders to my boxcar (I went way overboard, but as I’ve seen the spray do, that should hopefully be a good thing. I’ll have to see how it turns out b4 putting the powders onto the U23B).

Is the title implying that there will be a new thread every month, or will it be just like, yearly or something?

Woo 3rd post! Anyway I just ordered a new dcc decoder for my NJT ALp-44, ill post pics when I get it as it looks like im going to need alot of help getting that thing installed.

Ah, it’ll go till Bergie kicks us out again. [;)] (sry bergie, just had to say that)

BigBlueConrail, looking forward to those pics.

Well, Bergie said a new thread would be started every month, but I don’t know if this place is an exception - it took us over 16 months to get 136 pages, where the Flat Wheel Cafe and Elliot’s Trackside Diner accumulate 300+ pages in less than a year. Maybe TMRP will have Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall editions? Bergie?

That stinks oh well? Heres to a great start to hopefully an even more successful Teen thread!

The new Trackside Diner opened only a few days ago, and it’s already at 19 pages. It’s been an average of 3-4 pgs per day. The new Flat Wheel Cafe opened tonight, and they will restart every season. Seeing that we don’t get as many posts, maybe we should do it every six months or so. I must say, locking those old threads certainly has made the server much faster.

cool we got a new topic. and since i have not been here for a while my up date is… nothing new.

I vote we should do like a seasonal thing, maybe a new thread every 6 months, like a Winter/Spring Edition and a Summer/Fall Edition.

I was wondering when the old thread was going to get locked…

Well maybe the great Bergie with drop in and tell us when to start new threads. We’ll do if if you tell us when, I mean it’ll be less work for you. I got myself into website managing with our club, I and I understand how much work can add up after a while. And this is just a simple HTML format, not a fancy forum and website with who knows how many visitors everyday. Welcome to the new thread everyone!

I’m shooting for monthly for all such threads. Unfortunatley, regardless of ones age, I get accused of not treating all such threads fairly if I lock one and not all. (Yes, it’s true.)

Well Back to trains… My Walthers order is expected here on the 19th! Although It may come on the 16th or 20th… Rapido released photos of their Osgood Bradley coaches (OMGZ!!!), and also announced new FP9s in a locomotive line, and cabeeses in a freight car line!

What decoder did you get for the ALP-44? I have a DP5X in mine and it was easy to install.

Heyo.

I saw the Rapido Telegraph as well, and although their new CP Van is expensive, boy is it ever nice! I am not exaclty into passenger, so I am happy Rapido announced a freight line.

Like I said, expensive, but worth it. I will order at least one, preferably 2.

I thought van was a CN term… Guess all of Canada uses it.

LVRC had interchange with both CV and CP, thus I think I can justify one of those for the interchange, although that requires CP power… joy!

If it wasn’t $60 I’d buy one…[:P]

Thanks for the clarification, Bergie.

Think about it this way.

Let say it’s about a 50 cents a part on the car. So you are paying for 120 pieces of plastic, already assembled.

Scratch that! It doesn’t make me want to buy anything! [xx(]

Yea, that doesn’t really help. In fact, it almost kinda makes it worse.

Nice caboose Alex.

Well, my C-Liner runs good, and my rs-1 is good at slow speeds, so I’m happy. Oh, and that boxcar came out good.
