TEEN RAILFAN PLACE-LET'S TALK TRAINS!

Welcome to our teen rail fan and model railroader coffee shop. We like to talk trains and discuss modeling projects, rail fanning trips, experiences, and just shoot the breeze! So if you are a teen or a teen at heart, why don’t you come in, and sit a spell. LET’S TALK TRAINS!!!(And other stuff)(But mostly trains)

A couple rules: No instant messaging, if you want to do this, please keep it to email,
No flaming
No politics
No swearing
and most of all, have fun!

YES, I’m back as alstom!!! So, what’s up Matthew??

This time, let’s make it a forum and not a chatroom!!!

So glad to be back!!!

Great, Bergie let you back? That’s great! Now I wish I had more trains to talk about…
I am suposed to be at school today, but since musical theatre is off today becasue of the show, I got to sleep in, and then I decided not to go to physics and english. Why? Because in physics, I have a pretty good understanding of what’s going on, and 2 private free tutors. My parents! My dad has a PhD in physics, and my mum has a lesser university degree. Sweet, eh?
Does anybody else here have Limewire? And how’s the weather?

Oy. Make the title the same please Matt. Alstom, i think it would be good if you kept your old username. A fresh start you might say.

Alec

My weather is fairly good, considering winter. The snow is at that stage where it is harder and it breaks when you step on it. We did get a snow storm last night, and at my bus stop, it was really, really slick!!! It dried up by the time I got home though and the sun peaked out for a while! Good enough for railfanning this weekend!

And Alec, you mean my “CSX 4685” screen name? Because if you do, I only had 35 posts, and besides, Bergie let me back in this screen name.

Weee… a new start never got one of these before… lol… I’ll have those pics of the transportation museum (sp?) up prolly sunday!!! it was fun today… I liked It,… lots to see I’ll show ya!!!

thanks every one that told me about the snow plow. but a new question for a new form how much snow does it take to get the snow plows out ??? how much snow can the train’s loco take, and how does it affect the loco and load the other thing is my dog tipped over the christmas train so much for my dog’s being “interasted” in my trains any one know about the baltamore and ohio it’s my favroite road but i dont know it all. oh and the wether is great here i saw the snows comming back to michagan!!! i only have two more days of school before christmas break!!![:)] during christmas break im going to be in the snow or with my trains or on here all i asked for this year was train stuff [:D][:D] and thats all i want! thats what i told my parents. did you know that port huron (thats where i live) is the childhood home of thomas edison he worked on the grand trunck western railway so now we have a depot in his honer i can get some pictures on here of it it"s got a combine car at the depot then down town we have another depot there repairing. i wonder if any one will find the new form

It takes only a couple inches above the railhead or some drifts to get the wedge plows out. I think the rule is that if there is more than 3 inches over the railhead on our line, trains must stop, but they can take out pretty big drifts. Not a big B&O buff, unfortunately.
I’ve changed the name! And I think Richard should stay as Alstom for now.

In response to the below post, the posts are how people get to know you, and if you lose them then you have to reuild it. And good luck!

“I only had 35 posts”

Oooooooooooooooook? Why does it matter? Welp, im sick, have a bad cold!!! Errr, but i got 2 Bball games tomarrow, so wish me luck. Seeya around guys,

Alec

luck to ya and get well by the way how do you edit your screen name, do you think that they will let on 4-8-4up northern? its interesting, having a new form. and by the way does any one know about the british “flying scotsman” train

Dont know about the Briti***rain, and no he is gone forever. You cant edit a screen name, you just have to create one.

Alec

oscaletrains: Eric (4-8-4 UP Northern) has been on here 3 or 4 times. He is my friend so I won’t comment on him, but I will say he has had more than enough chances. (also, why don’t you update you profile?)

Alec: You can call me Richard, ya know? That wasn’t the point I was trying to make with 35 posts. What I truly mean’t was that people don’t know me as well as CSX 4685. Plus, that account has been locked, don’t know why.

Chris: You joining our “new” place? Not being rude that yours was locked.

Dock_661: Congrats in advance for your 50th post! Don’t know why I wanted to mention that.

Yes, I am afraid that Eric couldn’t learn to show a little respect and humility. But let’s not let this turn into another discussion about him. That is one of the reasoons Bergie locked the old place.

And that is exactly what I was trying to say in my last post. I bet it was locked becasue bergie thought that you only needed one.

So here it has started to snow, which is good because I’m dreaming of a wite christmas!

Man, this topic got real big so quick!!! I’m glad, I can’t wait to see this TEEN RAILFAN PLACE get as big as the last only without the miner flaws!!!

Not much to report today. Only have HW in Math!!! Have to write an article for the Greek culture for World History. One hting though, my Life Science grade, dropped from a B to a C!!! Oh well, I can bring it back up in no time!

Well, two days till my cab ride on Sunday!!! Can’t wait to see what stills and/or film I get of it!!!

You have a pre-arranged cab ride?
So all of Phpbb is still down, what’s up with that? They say they are backing up eevrything, but they also said it would be uup last tuesday. I wonder…

Yes, I am going on a cab ride with the Wheeling & Lake Erie this Sunday for a few miles and back!!! Hopefully, the locomotive will be one of their 3,000 hp, SD40-3 Rebuilds. Can’t wait!!!

Hey guys, Glad to see we have found a new spot with Bergie’s Graces(and I thank him for leaving the thread up for a little while at least so I knew what was going on).

Oscaletrains, I’ve personally seen the Flying Scottsman. I took a trip with my Dad over to England this last summer(Which was a lot of fun by the way), and he was nice enough to take me to the National Railway Museum, Britan’s biggest railroad museum, in York, England. That is where the Flying Scottsman is housed, and they run excursions out of there. Unfortunately it was in the backshop and wasn’t running when we were there, but I was at least able to see it.

There’s also an awesome Model Railroad Museum in York, practially in the York Railroad Station. It’s an awesome layout, a neat example of English Model railroading, and it also had a fairly large gift/hobby shop that I got a British Caboose from. I could run it on my MRR if I wanted too, but the couplers don’t match. If we ever get back to England I’m going to buy a Working locomotive of some sort. I can post shots of the Caboose if anyone is interested.

And Alec, you’ll be interested to know. When I was over in England, there is a railroad there called the EWS. It was once owned by the WC, and it’s paint scheme is definately inspired by the WC’s, it’s Maroon and Gold.

Well guys, I think I’m going to head out for a while at least. See ya all around,

Noah

Edit Matt, Just a thought, but you might want to copy(with Chris’s permission) or paraphrase what the first post in the original Teen Railfan Place says. Otherwise new members might not understand what your first posts means or what the topic is for. Also maybe add a few ground rules, like no IMing, flaming, casual swearing, ect? Just a suggestion, you can do with it what you think sounds good.

Howdy y’all.

I cleaned my room today. Unfortunately, a lot of my trains had to be moved downstairs due to space…Oh well…They’ll be back out soon.[;)]

I was afraid that Bergie would do something, but being the kind soul that he is, he is allow us to start anew! THANK YOU BERGIE![:D]

I wanted to go there, but I spent too much time at the RR museum next door.

Yes, they are a neat railroad. I hear they recently ordered (Well, within the last 10 years) a bunch of SD40 type locos with different bodies from GMDD in ontario.

I like that idea, I was thinking of doing that earlier.

so thanks guys i got alot of info about the flying scottsman thanks to you guys. by the way why dont you make a coupler out of wire and put it on top of a old long horn or somthing you know. and make a converstion car. theirs an idea. anyways i have to eat good night.
