teenage graffiti idiot killed by CP train

This pretty much sums up my feelings…

Good one, Vic. Perhaps he should consider the “delete” button instead.

Sad? Yes indeed. But simply put…WHEN YOU PLAY WITH FIRE, YOU’RE GONNA GET BURNED!

It doesnt come out too well in the pick, but the button says “SMITE”

…kinda the same thing in an Ol’Testiment way…[;)][:D][8D][:p]

ROFLMAO[:D]!

It absolutely sickens me to see grafitti ruining a freight car. The vandals should
get a lengthy prison sentence,as they cause thousands of dollars damage.
We all end up paying for it,eventually. That idiot Paint Boy isn’t missed by me.
Good riddance!!![:(!]

This is a very depressing thread. A life is lost and it becomes the basis for jokes? I hope that none of you, who find this hilarious, are parents who someday have to face a similar situation. Kids do dumb things, sometimes they get hurt or worse. Yes, I know life is hard, etc. Does this type of comment make it any easier?

Another brain-dead idiot paid the ultimate price for trespassing on railroad property, and it served him right! And in answer to what BNSF railfan said, railroads are NOT stupid. It’s impossible for any given class 1 railroad to monitor what is happening to the freight cars in their yards at ALL times. If I wanted to spray paint a car in our local BNSF yard which is just across the river and to the north of my house, I could do it tonight and get away with it!!!

Several points to be made here. First is this is, in part, why railfans have so much trouble trying to watch trains because of trouble stirred up by twits like these kids. Second is that there is always someone to replace the person who replaced the last person who did the same thing. Third is Darwin strikes again. The gene pool has been thinned, at least temporarily. This, too will probably stir up some comments. It IS too bad that the families have to be put through something like this as does the train crew, but who is really at fault here? Certainly not the railroad.

Well for those who are anti graffiti I guess they can say justice prevailed in this instance. I hope he dated the car where he was & the date before he went to graffiti heaven & maybe one of us train fans will see it one day[:o)][:I]

Hey, you know the kid was a TEENAGER. He made a mistake. He died for his mistake. That is tragic.

To say that he got what he deserved puts you in the position of being God. I dont think you are qualified. The value of life is far in excess of graffiti or graffiti free cars.

The ugliness on this thread has nothing to do with graffiti. It is very sad that so many here have shown us how they think.

Hey, if that was my kid messing in the back of the trains where they risk thier own dumb butts and come home alive… I will be the one to administer a punishment. And the beatings will continue until the trespassings stop. Once they hit 18, they are on own.

I have done some wild things in my day and lucky to get away with it. But truly, people who know that they put themselves at risk of injury or death for activity that is destructive and has little gain then… they deserved to be thinned out of the gene pool.

My feelings lie with those who had to respond to the emergency and to the parents who have to live with the fact that thier lost loved one died for absolutely no reason other than being somewhere where they should not be. Breaking a hole in the fence and getting into the property with alot of cans as reported by the article is pretty wuillful act of stupidity.

What a waste.

And what is really bad… kids in the future will punch a hole in another fence and squirm into the railroad yard and eventually ANOTHER child will get hit and killed. Maybe we as a society shares some of the blame for not educating kids. I dont know.

I should not have typed anything further in this old thread… but I have very strong feelings towards the value of life. There are some people who died trying to save others by going into harms way. This I have witnessed with own eyes as I am too cowardly in several instances due to the heat of the fire etc… to do anything.

Life has value. We all must die someday. It is best to live it all and whe

Well…awe…poor baby (does anyone detect my sarcasim? [;)][:D])…Darwin’s Rule is Correct again

Another Darwin Award winner!

Wow…This thread is old. But who cares!
Its too bad.

Well since you mentioned God…

He says “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). So, let’s see, we have destroying property, breaking and entering, trespassing, and vandalism… and plenty of intent to commit more! It’s one thing to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but doing wrong things in order to do more wrong things is just plain stupid.

Hopefully someone will learn from his mistakes!

I don’t think the boy deserved to die, but certainly he knew what he was doing. If the fence had indeed deliberately been slashed by him and his friends, there could have been no way they didn’t know that they were about to embark on an illegal trespass and violative act, lowering the worth of the CP’s eqiupment.

This responsibility thing cuts both ways, I think. I he was old enough to be considered a man then he did indeed gamble (stupidly) with his life and lost.

If the poor wretch was still a boy, then where the deuce is a PARENT or parental figure at least??

A chain-link fence that has to be destroyed in order to enter a freight yard is hardly an “attractive nuisance” under the law.

This whole graffiti business is getting out of hand. I’ve just begun to assemble mini-photo albums with topics like Stacks and Steaks, Mainline, Fallen Flags and Faraway FIrms, and American Graffiti. I haven’t completed any of the former books but I am already on volume 2 – More American Graffiti! It is an outrage.

Hey, guys, back off. We sometimes don’t execute murderers for their crimes. The kid spray painted a freight car. I don’t think that even in Singapore they kill taggers. I don’t know about the moral character or intelligence of all railfans, but geeze, how many of us have done both stupid and illegal things as teenagers ( think about this) ? We got away with it, grew up and matured and have had families and successful lives. This kid is going to dead for a very long time and his family has suffered the worst pain a family can experience. I sure hope the general public never reads some of the stuff that has appeared in this thread.
