Teen's corner!

I would like to meet any of the other teens here on the forums, if there are any others, that are garden railroaders. It would be nice to know that I am not alone.

I bult my garden railway when I was in 8th grade. But now I miss the teen mark by four years, (I’m 22).

Ah, you qualify then. What do you model?

I modle a short line/regional that was spun off by Conrail in the 70s. SZo I run lots of Conrail equipment plus stuff from it’s predacessor roads. I still have the Echo Toys “Classic Rail” I got when I was 10, essentialy a knock off of LGB’s DSP & P Mogul and some older Bachman stuff which is used for fan trips.

I’m 18 going on 43, do I count?

Im 14 My dad had built a garden railway when i was a wee lad. But we now are expanding. we got a stream in. and now ive laid 15 feet of track. we are now working on a trestle. its gunna be so cool when its done!

We reckon here inAustralia that the world should be run by teens while they still know everything!

Ian

As my wife so fondly says;
The difference between men and boys.
Is the price of their toys.

Remember; if all else fails, have fun!

RJR Branch Line

I am 15 and currently constructing a narrow gauge themed garden railroad.

I’m 13 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 years. It’s quite a bit longer than what you other guys are, so I guess that makes me the longest living in the bunch! I’m building my first garden railroad, sorta waiting for winter so I can try my new snow plow out. First things first, though, I gotta get it finished!

(Ian, the above letters & numbers is a lame attempt to be cool that teenagers usually try for a while in the US.)

Well honestly, I want to thank all of you for responding.

I’m 13. Iv’e just started two years ago, but we moved, so i had to take apart my old one. my new one is up and running with 123 feet of track, a waterfall, bridges, ect.

Well that is cool. So what all equipment do you guys have?

I have a mix of bachmann, aristocraft, and LGB locos and rolling stock. all my buildings are scratchbuilt.

Hey Eric,

It’s Colin, checking in here. I have LGB and Aristo locos and cars. I am mainly focusing on my O gauge RR, it is in the planning stages right now, but I hope to finish it soon. Ohhh, I am seeing some good deals in Garden Railways right now. What to buy, what to buy???

Well when I aint checkin’ my deer feeders, marching, or with my girlfriend, I am usually working on my garden railraod. I tore down my O guage layout. I am going to stick with good ole fashion floor layouts.

I am 21 years old. I’m modeling HO pretty heavy right now. I am also collecting for my Garden Rail Way once I move out of my Apt. I have an old lionel set with alot of Lionel cars and track. My Lionel track will always be indoor use only. I have had all my Lionel for many many years.

Right now I am trying to stock up on LGB Track and buy (2-4) Dash-9’s. I am buying my first Aristocraft Dash-9 44CW BNSF Heritage Two in 2-3 weeks and then I will wait another 2-3 weeks after that and buy a Aristocraft Dash-9 44CW U.P. “Building America”.
