I went to Tehachapi today to get some stuff from home depot, on my way through town I saw that the Southern Pacific depot that the local club was restoring, burnt down. Broke my heart. Has anyone heard weather it was arson or electrical?
Mike, we had a thread on this a week or so when it happened. “Kids” (in their 30s!) setting off fireworks was the cause. They hope to rebuild.
Well, I am a kid in my 30’s but I was raised with respect for other peoples property, they probably had no idea they were destroying a historical monument. It is just wrong. Do you have a link to that post?
Over at http://sptco.proboards107.com they have a story stating that it was caused by the illegal use of fireworks. I think it’s in the general discussion part of the forums.
Here is the new and now OFFICIAL website for the Tehachapi Depot rebuild project in California (Socal area).
