Man I sure love that web site.
Allan.
A lot of the urban areas have been updated with new pics… Check out EJ&E Joliet Yard.

Hey check it out! The EJ&E still has a Round house still in tacked,Ya even the Turntable too. Allan.
…TeraServer…It’s the best. Have used it for years. Have looked at all kinds of sights via TeraServer. Some years ago we pulled out our house picture on it and with a resolution good enough to see the patio at the back of the house.
I think it is awsome, the detail is incredible. I just don’t like that the urban areas photos cut off a quarter mile from my house. [V]
TerraServer is great. My Dad and I use it to locate the access to rock deposits that we find on geologic maps.
I like it becaue I can find Roads that I could never find on a State map.
When I go Railfanning some time this Fall on the BNSF I will access this site to find the best places to get the best Train shots that I could have never know that they where ever their. Allan.
You could also try Google Earth http://earth.google.com It is for people with highspeed only, you have to download a program and then it enables you to see a 3D image, You can tilt the view an basically look off to the horizon, really neat program.
Terraserver is the staple. The newcomer is maps.google.com. The photos are great when they have them down to the highest resolution. It is a bummer to be following a road or rail line and run out of high-resolution images…
