All the 40s had the wide cab. The 35s had the narrow-nosed cab.

So if you kit bash the cab of a 35 it becomes a 40?
NYCT does that all of the time. A lot of the new R-142s are going into the shops and coming out as R-188s. Automation on the Flushing Line, here we come!
