I plan to buy a Digitrax Zephyr. I want to add a tethered throttle. So far, I think I need a UT4 throttle and a UP5 loco net connector. I cannot find any info. about the tether (cable) itself (like how long it is). Nor, can I find where Digitrax sells them. My question: is the cord (tether) simply a user provided six wire phone cord? Thanks Jim
It comes with a decent length coiled cord.
Jim:
As Phoebe noted the UT4 comes with a coiled cable. It will comfortably reach about 5 feet. It is not detachable from the throttle. Tony’s Trains (http://www.tonystrains.com) sells six wire cables and couplers that could be used to lengthen the cord or you could add additional UP5 panels around the layout to extend your reach.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how long the coiled cord is? If I can move the tethered throttle a radius of 10 feet, I will need only one loco net connector. If not, can the cord be extended by using six wire cord and connectors (phone or data)? Thanks again Jim
Thanks Joe; Your response and my next question obviously crossed during transmision. Disregard my second question as your excellent answer provided all the info. I need. Thanks Again Jim
