So are they restoring it to Magma Arizona livery or Tremont & Gulf? I think I would go with the latter, since it was built for them and it spent most of its life there, but it’s a great idea either way. I rode the TSR two or three years ago while visiting my brother, and it was a very nice operation, but the crazy red, black and silver paint job on the steam engine did bug me. I see on their website they repainted another engine, Texas & Pacific 316, in 2012, and it looks fabulous. Now that’s what a steam is supposed to look like. Well, good luck to them, and I look forward to riding again on a future visit.
Restored to it’s heritage—now that is great! Someone out there will have intimate knowledge of the Magma Arizona from personal experience. It means much more to retain the heritage of STEAM.
