Textile mills in the 1970's?

Anyone have any information or photos or are modeling Textile mills. I need some info for planning mine!

Any help will be appreciated

I’ve been in a couple and they were just run down, nondescript red brick buildings. Semis bringing cotton in one loading dock and more semis taking bed sheets out another. You couldn’t even tell what they did in there without walking inside. One of the places I was in was built in 1867 so it looked pretty run down.(Macon Ga.)
A Google images search turned up quite a few pictures of textile mills.

By the late 50’s they were pretty much gone in the northeast. The Carolinas were about the only place I know of still producing textiles. So unless youare modeling an era when they existed elsewhere or that area of the country it would kind of be out of place I think.

I worked at some in NC several years ago (Spartan Mills). The mills were more cotton mills. The cotton was brought to the mill by truck. There was another plant below my house that was a CONE mill plant. No tracks either. Now there was one in Gaffney, SC um… Milliken I believe. I never really got to see where they went (tracks). I am sure they were mostly boxcars. Also, they were brick wharehouse bulidings. Not real tall but more long and wide. there was a water tower, and always a nasty/dirty lake.
