Thanks (Again) for the Forum, MR

First, I’ll defend myself; i.e, I’m somewhat of a pessimist. So I don’t always look at things in the most positive light.

Having said that, I thought I’d post what just crossed my mind. I’ve been into the MRR thing, fourth time, for about 4-1/2 years (current layout). Anyhow, today I’ve reminded myself that this MR forum has been a boon to my efforts, and enjoyable as well. The credit goes to MR to provide the vehicle (and additional efforts to manage it) as well as the many helpful and interested members.

I think it was today’s post on the new Walthers website (some issues for many people) that may have triggered this thought, plus the recent thread on MR customer service issues. I do not at all intend to critique the particulars as I think such threads are useful as long as they stay “constructive”; i.e., it’s ok to surface and debate issues as long as it doesn’t degenerate. In my case, I’m particularly dismayed by the effectiveness of the current forum “Search the Community” feature.

But, from a big picture standpoint, the Forum has benefited me greatly and been enjoyable as a participant, so here’s my annual: “Thanks, MR!”.

Paul

That’s so nice to hear positive comments! I would like to invite you to Jeffries diner thread . We talk on and off subject with certain limitations and all are welcome.

YGW

I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with your sentiments Paul, and will take the opportunity to also add my thanks.
As for the search function [banghead] [banghead] it’s been mentioned before but, as a reminder, I find a general Google search using cs.trains.com (then subject) is far more useful. The forum certainly contains a treasure trove of really Good Stuff.
Cheers, the Bear.[:)]

I’m with Paul and Bear in offering my thanks to MR! Model Railroader Mag., website and forum has thru the years provided me with unmeasurable amounts of knowledge, inspiration and entertainment, not to mention a unique connection with fellow hobbyists around the globe.

Thanks again MR! regards, Peter

Please add me in too.

Thanks MR!

(And yes, the search function could use a little touching up[swg]).

Dave
