Thanks Erik. I (we) know it can be hard and thankless. Let me correct
that oversight.
Thanks[tup][tup][tup]
I wi***hey would limit the political discussion on Trains too…but then at least three writers would have no filler every month.
Erik, thanks for keeping watch on us.
It is one thing to discuss the historical effects of politics on our railroad intrests (such as how Land Grants affected the UP in the 1800’s (this was a political decision that directly affected a national economic situation) ) but most any other use of the topic is usually inflamitory.
TRAINS Magazine does much the same with current politics as they affect railroading - but that is part of their “charter of service” to us so that we can understand better what is happening to our railroads.
If you don’t understand this, look closely into the current international situation concerning the publication of those now famous Danish political cartoons.
Again, thanks Erik - and, yes, you should have locked that thread from the start![:D]
The difference there Eric, is that in the magazine, those writers aren’t getting into the political name calling that was going on here. Bergie is trying to keep things civil in here, and like he said, not a locker room fight. And as he pointed out, this forum is open to all, women and childeren included.
[#ditto][#ditto][tup] After this last month you deserve at least a day off…Enjoy…Tell Jim Wrinn we said it was ok[bow][yeah][:-^]
Sam and some others[:D][:D][:D]
Erik,
You’re doing a great job of keeping control with out “heavy handedness”. Thanks a bunch!!!

I would imagine that by now Bergie is getting rather tired of having to deal with so many “children” on this forum.
At this rate, Kalmbach is going to have to hire someone who’s job it is to monitor the forums. Then we might have to pay to use it to offset the corporate costs.
However, if the responsible members of the forum will continue to be proactive in alerting Beregie when we see things that do not belong here (if he wants us to), perhaps we will be able to continue on as before, but without the negativity.
I happen to really like these forums. I feel as though I have a casual relationship with some of the people that post regularly. I learn a lot from the others that have a much wider range of experience than I have, and am willing to share the knowledge and experience I have. But only if it stays fun.
I agree with zardoz.
“I must respectfully disagree with you” (used today on the model railroader forum) , OR “I’m sorry, but I can’t agree with you” - keep it in that spirit and we’ll all get on fine (and give Bergie a relaxing weekend).
If you want to bring politics or abuse into it, find another forum, or work your butt off in the gym and vent your spleen there.
Please let me add my own private thank you to Erik. As a father with a elementary aged daughter who like her father enjoys trains it is comforting to know that he is vigiliant at his task. As a member of over 4 years now I have found his hand to be firm but more than fair.[^][2c] As always ENJOY
I also want to thank Bergie I had someone make a personal attack on me. I let Bergie know and that guy had his acct frozen.
THANK YOU BERGIE
Amen, y’all, and keep it up, Bergie!
One of the main reasons this is one of the best forums on the 'net!
Thanks Bergie. You’re doing a good job, and there are a lot of people that appreciate it.
Bergie, It seems that the Moderator does get noticed. Well done with a touch of real class.
My hero…and well suited for the job!
Mookie
Bergie, you know you’re respected and appreciated by many of us here.
10-4!
Thanks Bergie and sorry if I have had any part in causing or furthering the problem. [] I’ll keep an eye on myself[:)]
Thanks again for doing such a great job![bow]
